History
Jackson Design Associates was founded by Tony Jackson in 1994
.
Tony was joined by Darren Turner who became the first full time employee in 1996 and was soon joined by Darren Binney in 1997. Both Darren’s are still with the business and occupy senior positions and bring different, yet complimentary, skills to the business.
Alan Gammon joined the business as co-owner and joint managing director in 2000. The successful marriage of Alan’s commercial and management skills and Tony’s design skills ensured a very well rounded business that saw its range and complexity of projects increase over the next 10 years.
2003 saw the business purchase land on the award winning Sherwood Energy Village after it had been commissioned to design and manage one of the first office buildings on the site for a private client. The business moved to its new premises in 2004.
The development of it’s own purpose designed offices on this site was a great milestone for the business and the initial 2500 sq ft of office space was increased to 4500 sq ft in 2007. Tony comments;
“the opportunity to develop our own purpose designed offices was exciting and came just at the right time for the business as its profile and need for more office space came to the fore. To be part of a major redevelopment site such as the Sherwood Energy Village was very exciting and has enabled us to create a good working environment for our staff. It provides an office with good meeting facilities and plenty of car parking for clients and a building that forms part of an environmentally responsible business park”
2004 also saw the formation of a sister practice, JDA Safety, providing health and safety consultancy to the construction sector. The business, headed by Nick Ashworth, is based at Latimer House alongside Jackson Design Associates.
The business has continued to grow in a sustainable manner and has gradually added a number of support staff to maintain excellent client service levels.
Jackson Design Associates’ approach of service, quality and successful delivery has ensured it has continued to trade successfully from its foundation until today.
