<p>Approached by a sweeping driveway, historic Craven Lodge is set in superb mature grounds extending to approximately two acres at the foot of Burton Hill, in the attractive market town of Melton Mowbray. This fine Grade II Listed house, formerly a hunting lodge, is being sympathetically renovated as Craven Court to create nine unique individual houses. Original features are to be restored and preserved, transforming this outstanding property into one of the most desirable developments in the area.</p>

<p>The first stage in ambitious plans to transform the Chesterfield Canal Corridor through Worksop, this project has just obtained planning permission and is due on site in early 2012.</p>
<p>The project involves the restoration and conversion of a range of buildings comprising a former fire station, stables and parts of the electricity works. The conservation area status and relationship to nearby buildings required a sensitive combination of respect for historic structures combined with sympathetic contemporary additions. </p>

<p>In 2008 JDA were appointed to undertake a detailed design study on the Chesterfield Canal in Worksop. The study identified areas of potential along the canal corridor, culminating in a detailed masterplan and viability appraisal.</p>
<p>The first of the sites identified, Corporation Yard on Canal Road, has just had a planning application submitted by JDA to restore existing buildings for conversion to a creative village.</p>

<p>The regeneration of the former Bentinck Colliery site involved major proposals for a range of facilities aimed at breathing new life into Ashfield’s economy.</p>
<p>The ambitious plans include a golf course, football pitches, adventure play ground, a conservation area, a camp site, equestrian centre, fishing lakes, education/employment. </p>
<p>JDA were employed to design the employment buildings along with the iconic clubhouse. The clubhouse is located at the highest point of the site with panoramic views.</p>

<p>To support our client’s existing successful wedding business at Hodsock Priory, JDA designed and project managed ten self-catering suites within a self-contained courtyard. The suites, a hybrid of a high quality hotel room and a self-catering cottage, have been hugely successful and have received excellent guest feedback. The project also recognised its environmental responsibilities incorporating both solar thermal panels and a ground source heat pump system.</p>
<p>The project won the “most innovative building project” category of the CHAD business awards with particular reference to the attention to detail.</p>

<h3><span style="color: #990000;">Exclusive Lodges for Center Parcs</span></h3>
<p>Jackson Design Associates extended its successful 13 year relationship with Center Parcs with the recent completion of five newly designed exclusive lodges at Longleat Forest Holiday Village. Having secured planning permission for similar schemes at all four Center Parcs UK villages in 2009, the first were successfully completed in 2010. We designed and project managed the scheme which creates high quality detached lodges with fantastic features such as a games room (with pool table and Nintendo Wii), hot tub and a personal external health spa (with sauna, steam room and experience shower).  The lodges utilise an interiors concept developed by award winning designer Tara Bernard and the new style layout and external elevation was developed by Jackson Design Associates. This sensitive site in a forest location was successfully managed and around a live holiday village and delivered on time and budget.</p>

<p><strong>Center Parcs Ltd</strong> Other schemes completed for Center Parcs during our 13 year relationship with them include over 800 new build lodges in the last 10 years, the refurbishment of over 2000 lodges, the design of the Aqua Sana Spa buildings on all four UK villages and we also played a significant design role in the rebuild of the Elveden site following a major fire in 2002.</p>

<h3><span style="color: #990000;">Supported Living Scheme</span></h3>
<p>Jackson Design Associates continued its long standing and successful relationship with Eden Supported Housing with the design of a 6 unit supported living complex in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire. The scheme enables tenants with learning disabilities to be cared for in their own home by Eden’s specialist care staff.  The new build scheme required complex negotiations at planning stage and careful attention to detail to ensure each apartment had bespoke details suited to each tenant. The scheme was completed in November 2010.</p>

<p>A 48 bedroom high quality care home and rehabilitation centre for adults with acquired brain injuries. This privately owned new build scheme was very innovative in the way it approached the quality of the environment for residents. It features spacious en-suite private rooms clustered around small private living rooms and kitchens and a magnificent two-storey central meeting space with enclosed outdoor quadrangle.</p>
<p>The building has been well received by clients and residents alike, the staff love it and the Care Quality Commission recently granted it the highest excellence rating for the overall care and environment provided.</p>

<p>A single storey Health Spa linked to the existing fitness club creating a series of treatment rooms, an after-treatment relaxation area and a reception with pedicure and manicure facilities – all sensitively designed to complement the existing club. The scheme was delivered on time and budget and both customer and client feedback has been excellent. Jackson Design Associates role was to design the scheme and assist our client’s in-house project manager with both procurement and contract administration duties.</p>

<p>A flagship new build office complex in the heart of Sherwood Energy Village. The client’s brief called for an innovative and eye-catching design to be centred on a large winter garden and designed to the highest environmental standards. The passively ventilated building relies on the south facing winter garden or atrium for solar gain/cooling and this also acts as a chimney to vent the building. Ground source heating is utilised throughout with vertical solar panels for hot water. The E Centre is the central and flagship building which formed part of the winning submission for the Royal Town Planning Institute Silver Jubilee cup in 2008.</p>

<p>A private housing development in the Derbyshire town of Belper. This challenging location incorporated cliff faces, poor vehicular access and redundant factories on site as well as sitting on the edge of a conservation area and UNESCO World Heritage site. Jackson Design Associates led the negotiations with the planning authority and worked closely with the client to agree designs and materials that met the often conflicting requirements of purchasers, planning authorities and the developer. The outcome is a successful scheme that responds well to its context whilst, at the same time, creates good quality flexible housing.</p>

<h3><span style="color: #990000;">Town Centre Mixed Use Development</span></h3>
<p>Redevelopment of a redundant Brown Field town centre site in Mansfield to create 20,000 sq ft of quality offices and 86 apartments over seven floors plus four separate town houses. A hugely exciting development for Mansfield, Jackson Design Associates worked on this scheme from the outset for their original client Premspace Ltd. The design and planning permission that we successfully negotiated is for a flagship building in Mansfield which is due for final completion in 2011. Our original client sold the site onto a third party developer for site delivery and that third party business has continued to deliver the Jackson Design Associates scheme.</p>

<p>Other projects for Premspace Ltd and their group of companies (which include Birch Tree Homes and Vitel Property Ltd) include eleven high quality houses in the Trent Valley village of Rolleston, apartment schemes in the Mansfield area and leading a planning application for a golf course and leisure complex which includes a hotel, fairway housing and apartments.</p></div>

<h3><span style="color: #990000;">Construction Skills Workshop</span></h3>
<p>A new build scheme to create vocational training facilities for the teaching of construction skills as part of the Dukeries College complex. This highly energy efficient building features a mix of workshops for teaching ‘hands-on’ practical skills, meeting rooms and has classrooms for formal lectures. The environmental impact was considered at each stage of the design and build process and it even includes its own wind turbine.</p>
